Midwest Building Exteriors Inc.
Storm Damage · Restoration Process

The full restoration process, step by step.

From first inspection through final walkthrough — here's exactly what happens when you restore your home with Midwest Building Exteriors.

  1. Step 01

    Free Inspection & Damage Report

We perform a complimentary drone-assisted and ground inspection of your roof, siding, gutters, and windows. You receive a documented report with photos you can keep — whether you choose to file or not.

  2. Step 02

Insurance Claim Filing & Adjuster Meeting

If filing is the right call, we help you submit the claim and meet your insurance adjuster on-site to walk every elevation. Our Public Adjuster–trained team makes sure nothing legitimate gets missed.

  3. Step 03

Contract Signing & ACV (Actual Cash Value) Payment

Once your claim is approved, you'll sign a restoration contract with MBE. Your insurance company issues the first payment — the Actual Cash Value (ACV) check, which represents the depreciated value of the damaged property. This is endorsed and applied to the project.

  4. Step 04

    Material Selection & Order

You'll meet with your project manager to choose colors, profiles, and any optional upgrades (Class 3 impact-rated shingles, ridge vents, ice-and-water shield, etc.). Materials are ordered and a delivery date is locked in.

  5. Step 05

    Install Scheduling

We schedule your installation around weather and material lead times. You'll get a firm start date along with what to expect on the jobsite — protection of landscaping, vehicles, and outdoor furniture.

  6. Step 06

    Installation & Quality Check

Our certified crews complete the install in one to three days for most residential roofs. A project manager performs an in-progress quality check and a post-install magnetic nail sweep of the entire property.

  7. Step 07

    Supplements & Final Invoice

If we discover additional damage or code-required work during install (decking replacement, drip edge, etc.), we file a supplement with your insurance company. Once approved, the final invoice is generated reflecting the total approved claim, your deductible, and any upgrades you chose.

  8. Step 08

Final Payment, Depreciation Release & Lender Check

Your insurance company releases the depreciation (the difference between ACV and full Replacement Cost Value) after we provide proof of completion. If your mortgage company is named on the check (common for checks over a certain threshold), we'll guide you through the lender endorsement process so funds release without delay.

  9. Step 09

    Final Walkthrough & Warranty Hand-off

Your project manager walks the completed project with you. You receive your manufacturer warranty paperwork plus our Lifetime Craftsmanship Warranty on all workmanship. We answer the phone — for the lifetime of your roof.
