Privacy Policy
This policy describes exactly what Midwest Building Exteriors collects through this website, what we do with it, who else sees it, and how you can have it deleted.
Last updated: September 2, 2026
Who we are
Midwest Building Exteriors Inc, a Minnesota corporation ("MBE," "we," "us"), is a Minnesota exterior contracting company — roofing, siding, windows, gutters, decks, and storm damage restoration — with offices in Minneapolis/Richfield and Eagan, Minnesota, and St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. This policy covers midwestbuildingexteriors.com and the forms on it.
What we collect, form by form
We only collect what you type into a form or upload to it. We do not buy contact lists, and we do not require an account to browse the site.
Instant Roof Quote calculator
Name, phone number, email address, and your property address (entered with Google address autocomplete), plus the roof details you select — roof type, pitch, number of stories — and the estimated roof area and price range we calculate from them.
Free inspection / contact forms
Name, phone, email, property address, the service you're interested in, your message, and any photos, videos, or documents you choose to attach.
Residential roofing request form
Name, phone, email, ZIP code, service needed, how you heard about us, your message, and whether you checked the box consenting to receive text messages.
Storm damage / approval eligibility form
In addition to your contact details and property address, this form collects insurance-related information: your date of loss, your insurance company's name, your claim number, the type of denial if you received one, whether you've filed prior claims and the details, and any photos, videos, or documents you upload. Treat this as the most sensitive information on the site — we handle it that way.
Design & Build inquiry
Your name, email, phone, message, your architect's firm name and phone number if you provide them, and any plans, drawings, or images you upload.
Careers application
Name, phone, email, the position you're applying for, years of experience, previous employer, desired compensation, how you heard about the role, your résumé, and any other files or message you send.
Referral form — information about someone else
This form collects information about a third party: the referred person's first and last name, phone number, email address, home address, and any notes you add, along with your own name, company, and email. Because that person is not the one filling out the form, we require you to confirm with a checkbox that you have their permission to share their contact information with us before the form will submit. If you are the referred person and you'd like your information removed, contact us using the details below and we will delete it.
Blog guide download
Name and email address only, used to deliver the guide you requested.
Staff login
Our own employees sign in to an administrative area with an email address and password. This is not available to the public.
Alongside form submissions we record basic marketing attribution — the page you submitted from, the referring website, and any campaign tags in the link you arrived through (for example, utm_source or a Google Ads click ID). We do not store your IP address with form submissions.
How we use it
- To contact you about the inspection, estimate, or job you asked about.
- To document damage accurately and communicate with your insurance carrier's adjuster during a repair project you hire us for. We perform contracted repair work; we do not act as your public adjuster or represent you in your claim.
- To prepare estimates, schedule work, and manage your project file.
- To evaluate job applications.
- To pay referral bonuses and follow up with the person you referred.
- To understand which pages and marketing channels bring us customers, in aggregate.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Who your information goes to
Two third parties actually receive personal information from this site:
- AccuLynx — our contractor CRM and the system of record for customer projects. When you submit a form, your name, phone, email, address, message, and any files you uploaded are created as a contact and job record in AccuLynx and assigned to our team. AccuLynx's own retention and security terms apply to that copy.
- Google Analytics 4 — website analytics. GA4 receives pageviews and a small set of interaction events (phone-number taps, text-link taps, when a form is started, and when a form is submitted), plus the standard information a browser sends, including your approximate location derived from IP address and your device type. We do not send your name, email, phone number, address, or claim details to Google Analytics.
Supporting services that necessarily handle data in the background:
- Our website hosting and database provider stores form submissions and uploaded files and processes ordinary web-server request logs, including IP addresses.
- Google Maps Platform receives the property address you type into the roof quote tool in order to autocomplete it, locate it, and measure the roof.
- We may disclose information if required by law, or as needed to establish or defend legal claims.
There is no advertising pixel, remarketing tag, session-recording tool, heatmap, or chat widget on this site.
Cookies and local storage
- Google Analytics cookies (
_gaand a related_ga_cookie) identify a returning browser for traffic measurement. - mbe_attribution — a value stored in your browser's local storage on your first visit, holding the campaign tags, referring site, and landing page from that visit. If you later submit a form, it is attached so we know which channel brought you. It contains no name, email, or phone number, and it stays in your browser until you clear your site data.
- A login token and a sidebar preference are stored only for signed-in staff in our administrative area.
How to opt out: install Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, block cookies or use a tracking-blocking extension in your browser, or clear this site's cookies and local storage from your browser settings — which also removes the mbe_attribution value. Blocking any of this does not affect your ability to use the site or contact us.
Email and text messages
Email from this site is transactional only. We do not operate a newsletter or marketing email list, and submitting a form does not subscribe you to one. The only automated emails our system currently sends are internal notices to our own staff. If we ever add marketing email, every message will include a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing will be honored on our suppression list.
We do not send automated text messages. Phone and text links on the site simply open your own phone's dialer or messaging app. If you check the SMS box on a form, that means a member of our team may text you directly about your project; reply STOP at any time and we'll stop.
How long we keep it
We'll be straightforward: there is currently no automatic retention limit. Form submissions, uploaded photos and documents, and our email send log persist in our systems indefinitely until you ask us to delete them or we delete them ourselves. Project records serve a legitimate long-term purpose — warranty claims, insurance disputes, and permit history can surface years after a job — so we do not purge them on a schedule.
Your copy in AccuLynx is subject to AccuLynx's retention practices; when you make a deletion request to us, we remove your records from AccuLynx as well as from our own database.
How to request deletion or a copy of your information
Email or call us using the contact details below and tell us the email address, phone number, or property address you used. We will:
- Permanently delete your form submissions, uploaded photos and documents, and email log entries from our website database and file storage — this is a real, working function in our administrative system, not a manual promise.
- Delete your contact and job record in AccuLynx.
- Confirm back to you when it's done. We aim to complete requests within 30 days.
You can also ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, or to correct something that's wrong. We honor these requests from anyone who asks, regardless of what state you live in. Note that we may need to keep limited records where we're legally required to — for example, contract, warranty, tax, or lien documents connected to completed work.
Security
Form submissions travel over an encrypted connection. Uploaded photos and documents are held in a private storage bucket that is not publicly browsable and is accessible only to authorized MBE staff through time-limited links. Access to our administrative area requires a staff account. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit who can see your information to the people who need it to do your project.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for property owners and job applicants. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Where we operate
Midwest Building Exteriors is based in Minnesota and serves the Twin Cities metro and western Wisconsin. Your information is stored and processed in the United States, and this policy is governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our site, forms, or vendors change. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we use information you already gave us, we'll say so prominently here. This version is effective as of September 2, 2026.
