Video FAQs

Where can I watch Midwest Building Exteriors videos?

All of our videos live on our YouTube channel, and the newest uploads play right on this page. The channel covers hail and wind damage inspections, insurance claim explainers, and start-to-finish roofing and siding installs across the Twin Cities. You can also subscribe at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQCcXzm-idi0EQRtDp23pcQ.

What does hail damage look like on a shingle in these videos?

In our inspection videos you'll see the three signals that matter: a dark bruise where the granules were knocked off and the mat is exposed, a soft spot that gives under thumb pressure, and random impact spatter on soft metals like vents, gutters, and window wraps. Random pattern and soft mat are what separate real hail damage from blistering or normal wear.

Do the videos show how the insurance claim process works?

Yes. We film the full sequence — free inspection and photo documentation, filing with your carrier, the adjuster meeting where we present the scope, the initial ACV payment, the build, and the final depreciation release. Watching one of these before you call your carrier usually answers most of the questions homeowners have.

Can I use a video to decide whether to file a claim?

Use them to know what to look for, not to make the call. Every carrier and policy is different, and filing a claim on damage that won't be approved can count against you. We'll inspect the roof for free and tell you honestly whether it's worth filing.

Do you film every project you complete?

Not every one, but we film regularly across all three offices — Minneapolis/Richfield, Eagan, and St Croix Falls — so the channel reflects the housing stock and storm patterns of the areas we actually work in.
